DEREK GORES GALLERY BECOMES NOT QUITE RIGHT THEATRE:
“This is the next step in continuing to grow the business. We knew we were outgrowing our space, so the timing couldn’t be better.”
“The Gallery is perfect for our needs at this time, and we wanted to stay in EGAD. It’s a great community.”
~Jessica Taylor, Founder
Not Quite Right began in 2002 as part of the Henegar Center for the Arts. In 2014, artist Derek Gores took in these homeless actors and gave them a space to play in his Gallery. They began with one monthly show and a class. Over the last four years, they expanded to three shows a month and three classes every week, as well as performances for special events, private functions and leading corporate workshops.
Renovations are planned to take place while the team continues to operate. They are adding two bathrooms, a bar, stage, backstage area and cocktail tables, to turn the current Gallery into a cabaret-style theatre.
